ADC Kentrox DataSMART DSU / CSU (15961) - The DataSMART T3/E3 SMDSU provides subscriber access to Switched Multi-Megabit Data Service at T3 or E3 rates. It connects an SMDS compatible router or other data terminal equipment to the SMDS network. The SMDSU is designed to conform to Bellcore, ANSI, ETSI, ITU-T and other specifications, as well as SMDS Interest Group (SIG) recommendations. The SMDSU's pioneering approach of using an HDLC-based interface between the DTE and the DSU has been adopted by the industry. SMDSU supports the standard Data exchange Interface (DXI) protocol.
