Symantec AntiVirus For Inktomi Traffic Edge Security Edition (License Only) Volume License for PC, Unix - Today's blended threats include virus attacks that can propagate via HTTP and FTP traffic, making innocent Web surfing a vector for virus infection. Everyone is aware of virus propagation through the SMTP gateway, and while many organizations have deployed virus protection for e-mail traffic at the gateway or groupware levels, most overlook the need for protection for HTTP traffic that includes Web-based e-mail. An e-mail virus can easily become a Web (HTTP) virus through a firewall or proxy/cache. By providing scanning for HTTP traffic, even e-mail-borne viruses and worms can be stopped before they enter the network.
